Khatu Shyamji Temple is a most visited religious place by the hindu pilgrims of Rajasthan
State. Khatu Shyamji is known as an alias of Barbarik, who was a son of Ghatotkach in Treta Yug according
to hindu mythology. It is also considered that Khatu Shyamji is a lord of Kalyug means he is 10th avatar
of Lord Vishnu. Khatu Shyamji is worshipped in the form of Lord Krishna. The other names of Khatu Shyamji
are; khatu naresh, lakhdatar, baba shyam, sheesh ro dani, teen baan dhari etc.
The temple of Khatu Shyamji is completely made-up of Makrana White Marble which makes this place an
architectural wonder. Makrana marble is the finnest marble of India, many popular temples of India are
built by Makrana marble. Beautiful mythological pictures painted large prayer hall which is known as
Jagmohan hall explicits the beauty of this place. There are total 5 aartis performed to Khatu Shyamji
every day, these are Mangala Aarti, Shringaar Aarti, Bhog Aarti, Sandhya Aarti and Sayana Aarti.
Shyam Kund is a holy pool near Khatu Shyam temple, from where the head of Khatu Shyamji was
retrieved. It is considered that a bath in this pond cures all the illness of devotees and give them a
good health. Shyam Bagicha is a blessed garden near temple from where flowers are picked to offer
prayer in temple. Gaurishankar Temple is also a temple near Khatushyamji temple, which is basically
a Shiva Temple.
